April 3rd, 2025

Brian Bell Agriculture was proud to be part of the Inaugural Rumion Corn Harvest Festival at Umi in the Markham Valley! This incredible event showcased how mechanized commercial farming is transforming agriculture in PNG.

With Kubota tractors, including the powerful M7 172HP, playing a key role in harvesting 500 hectares of corn, the event highlighted the importance of modern machinery in boosting productivity. Our very own Peter Laka, BB Agriculture Lae Branch Manager, shared insights on how Kubota is driving efficiency in large-scale farming.

A big congratulations to Rumion Farms for an outstanding field day showing that with the right tools, technology, and partnerships, commercial farming in PNG is not just possible, but thriving! We’re excited for an even bigger event next year!

M7 tractor enters PNG market

April 29th, 2024

M7 tractor enters PNG market

Brian Bell Agriculture Lae took delivery of a Kubota M7 tractor for its customer Rumion piggery located on the Markham plains.

This is by far the biggest tractor the BB Agri dealership has brought in to the country from Kubota dealer- All Class Australia in Brisbane.

To give significance to the delivery, a team of 5 from both All Class and Kubota Australia were here in Lae conducting training for Rumion Operators, BB Techs and also running product knowledge training of BBAgri managers.

The M7 comes with advanced features that includes electronically controlled functions, air-conditioned cabin and environment friendly 10ppm low sulphur fuel with low carbon emission.

Took almost 8 months until delivery on the 6th of April 2024, with challenging logistics due to its sheer size. It took 2 days to have it taken out of a skid at 3W warehouse then loaded by Huon Logistics on a low loader up to Rumion. Delivery of the low sulphur fuel by Puma to Rumion was another challenge but was delivered on the second day of the training onsite.

Amongst the team that flew from Australia was Kubota Australia GM Peter Gloury.

BB Agri and Tech Services GM Janoah Smith and Key Accounts Manager Ishai Tamir flew in with the Australian based team to provide further support. The Australian team also spent some time visiting  tractor dealers and customers including reps of Ramu Agri.

David Duran GM of Rumion was a happy man, even though the order took longer and the delivery challenges and expressed gratitude for the after-sale support accorded by the group flying all the way from Melbourne and Brisbane as he was never accorded such level of support by his other equipment suppliers.

The team flew out of Lae on 11/04/2024 for Pom, with the Kubota team flying back on 13/04/2024 and the All-Class team spending several days with our Pom Ag team on training and visit customers in Port Moresby before flying back.

We hope that the ‘’Seeing is Believing’’ adage in PNG will help us sell more M7s.

Huge Success at the Morobe Show 2023

November 22nd, 2023

This year’s Morobe Show marked a significant success for the Brian Bell Agriculture team. Notably, we established a distinct presence with a separate stall from Brian Bell Homecentre, a strategic move aimed at emphasizing Brian Bell Agriculture’s independent standing as a key player in the agricultural sector in Papua New Guinea.

Securing a premium location, we showcased our comprehensive range of agricultural machinery outside the stall, while presenting our seeds and industrial products within. The diligent efforts of our Tech Services team, led by Justus, were instrumental in preparing and securing the building over the course of a week. They also joined us to showcase their expertise, highlighting services such as water pump setup and solar-powered lighting and fridges.

Collaborating with Fincorp, our strategic partner in equipment financing, we shared the stall to introduce an exciting product offering tailored for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and farmers.

Throughout the two-day event, our Agriculture team efficiently managed the stall, with one team on Saturday and another on Sunday, receiving valuable support from Ishai Tamir and Janoah Smith from POM. Security was expertly handled by both the Tech Services team and our contracted security firm, Millennium.

The response from the audience was remarkable, with keen interest expressed by farmers, SMEs, and promising sales leads from major agricultural businesses such as Trukai, Mainland Holdings, NBPOL/Ramu Sugar, and Rumion.

Our vibrant display was further enhanced by the presence of the captivating ‘Asaro mud men,’ representing the elusive spirit of the Eastern Highlands. These figures became an unofficial mascot, adding a unique and memorable touch to our booth.

Encouraged by this success, we are already looking ahead to the Morobe Show in 2024, where we plan to deliver an even more significant and impactful presence.
